The Lower Dales cycle ride, sponsored by Masham brewery Theakston, brought a welcome donation to the trust.
Almost 90 cyclists took part in the ride and riders could nominate a charity for a share of the total raised. One of the cyclists Luke Billingham suggested a donation to the trust after a friend’s dad was treated at the University Hospital of North Tees a year ago.
At a special presentation at the brewery’s visitor centre attended by all the charities and organisation set to benefit from the fundraising, head of communications Claire Young accepted a cheque for £363.91 from Simon Theakston, executive director of T and R Theakston Ltd.
Claire said: “It was lovely of Luke to suggest the trust for a donation to say thank you for the care of his friend Emily’s dad. I was delighted to go along and accept the cheque on behalf of the trust. The money will be used to help future patients.”
